This popular TV drama series depicts the members of an emergency room team continuing a daily battle to save the lives of people threatened with death. This third group of installments tackles a major theme for lifesaving operations, namely, emergency medical operations in case of a major disaster. The result is human drama on a grand scale.Dr. Issei Shindo, a member of the International Association of Physicians for Humanitarian Assistance, returns from abroad for a short stay in Japan. Dr. Kaede Kojima, who was formerly active as a research physician under Shindo, has now developed into an outstanding emergency room doctor. Meeting Shindo by chance, Kaede announces to him that she will give up her job in the emergency room. Shindo promises her that, before leaving Japan, he will visit her at the hospital and listen to her story. It is when Shindo is on his way by taxi to the hospital where Kaede is working that a major earthquake occurs directly below Tokyo.

Kazoku

Karei naru Ichizoku
Originally a novel by Yamasaki Toyoko, and later a 1974 movie. Manpyo Teppei is an executive managing director of a steel firm. The book depicts the conflicts within the Manpyo family, which is famous in Kansai’s financial circles, amidst the tumultuous reorganisation of the financial industry of 1970s. Unlike the book, the eldest son, Teppei, and not the father, Daisuke, will be the central character of the story.
Haikei, Chichiue-sama
Set in an old prestigious Ryotei (Japanese-style restaurant) in a small town in the center of Tokyo, a young Itamae (cook for Japanese dishes) struggles his life, love and work while the long-lasted ryotei and the beloved old town face the change to survive the time. This heartwarming drama shows the intimate relationship of the community that has been lost nowadays, asks what the most important things in your life is, and tells how difficult it is to make a decision. The story is told in the form of a letter to his unknown father with lots of humor and love.
Hagane no Onna 2
Haga Ineko stopped being a school teacher for she was about to get married. When she is suddenly dumped by her to-be husband, she loses her way, and starts drinking. One day, an old friend approaches with a job offer. She would be a substitute teacher in a class on which several teachers gave up without an apparent reason. She reluctantly takes the job only to discover that there are several brutal bullying cases inside the class. Even she eventually starts being anonymously threatened due to her opposing posture against such cases. She now has to identify and reprimand them while at the same time protecting weaker students. The word “Hagane” on the title is a nickname which comes from Haga (her surname) and Ne (from Ineko, her name), but is actually a pun with the actual word hagane (which means steel, denoting how she must be in order to resist as a teacher).

The basis for the drama is the novel “Kashikogi” by author Cho Chang-in, which has sold 2 million copies in Korea since its publication in 2000. It has already been adapted as atelevision drama and a stage play in that country. On February 4, Shogakukan is publishing the book in Japan under the title “Good Life.” Sorimachi plays the part of Daichi Sawamoto, a newspaper reporter who has always prioritized his work over his family. When his wife suddenly leaves him, he finally notices the love he has been receiving from his son. Just as he decides to answer back, it is discovered that his son has leukemia.

Yuri Saotome is a charismatic beautician who runs a major sports gym and aesthetic salon. Her older brother died in an accident just before his opportunity to achieve a gold medal at the Olympics, so she chose to marry a wrestling gold medalist. After giving birth to four children, she and her husband broke off their marriage, leaving Yuri to raise the kids by herself. With their excellent genes, three of them have been raised as possible candidates for the next Olympic games.
Ganges Gawa de Butterfly
Teruko, a third year university student, comes across as a forthright and sunny girl but is in truth a rather timid person. Edison no Haha
The series focuses on Ayukawa Noriko, the teacher of a class of first-graders. One day, a boy named Kento transfers into her class from another school, where he was treated as a problem child. In reality, the inquisitive Kento actually displays the potential of being a prodigy, and it’s up to Noriko to figure out how to handle him. The story draws inspiration from the childhood of famous inventor Thomas Edison, who was also considered a problem child by most adults around him.
Dream Again
A pro baseball player Shunsuke Ogi(Takashi Sorimachi) was fired by the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants because of a shoulder injury. After one year, he still dreams of coming back to the game, and decides to put everything behind to try out again. After he cancelled his wedding with his fiancée Satsuki Ninomiya (Ai Kato) and threw away the ring to forget Satsuki, a lightning bolt strikes him to death. When Shunsuke woke up again, he was standing in front of Heaven’s gate with his guide, Tanaka (Kiyoshi Kodama) who informed him that Shunsuke died from being hit by lightning, and they realized that the Ministry of Heaven made a mistake of killing Ogi instead of some other person. Since Shunsuke’s body was already gone after cremation, Tanaka decided to place his soul back into the body of another man, Asahina. When Shunsuke comes alive again as the cold-hearted president of a fund management firm, Asaniha, his life is not easy.

Eyes of Dawn
Based on a bestseller by Kim Seong Jong (1981), Eyes of Dawn is the story of three young Koreans caught in the maelstrom of the nation’s modern history. Spanning from the colonial period to the Korean War, the series brought to attention such issues as Japanese war crimes (especially the existence of ‘comfort women’) and the tragedies wrought by Korea’s ideological divisions.

With the deaths of ruling party’s Fukuoka Member of Parliament and his eldest son, his heir apparent, in an plane accident, a by-election had to be held right away and, Kanbayashi Masaichi, the House secretary of the ruling party,conceived the idea of fielding the second son, Asakura Keita, and sent his secretary Miyama Rika to complete the task. Keita was an elementary school teacher in Nagano and his hobby was star gazing.He had no interest in politics. At Rika’s persuasion and the pressure of his family, he reluctantly agreed to run for office but with no intention of winning. However, with the help of Nirasawa Katsutoshi, an election strategist, he went on to win by a narrow margin of just 164 votes.
